Our house among the walnut trees in Sarrazac
Our story does not begin behind a desk, but in a small village in the Dordogne: Sarrazac .
There stands our house—among rolling hills, ancient walnut trees, and a silence unlike any other. Every time we arrive, it's as if time stands still.
At the local markets of Thiviers, Périgueux, and Sarlat, we met farmers, beekeepers, jam makers, and artisans. People who know their craft and cherish their traditions. We tasted walnut oil pressed like it was a hundred years ago. Honey that smelled of the valley's flowers. Truffles that still glistened in the morning forest.
We took these products back to our home in Sarrazac… and later to the Netherlands. Family and friends tasted them and always said the same thing: "Why don't we have this here?"
That was the beginning of Maison Périgord. Not out of commercial interest, but out of a desire to share the Dordogne—its creators, its flavors, its tranquility, its soul.
